Beanies and hats made from organic merino wool and organic cotton
At Rotholz, we value high-quality, organic materials and fair, transparent production of our products. Our eco-fashion hats and beanies, like our other knitwear , are all made in a family-run business in Northern Germany. The yarn for our knitted hats, made from the finest merino wool, virgin wool, or organically grown cotton, comes from Italy. This allows us to oversee every single step of the process and every piece of material at all times, ensuring that production meets our sustainability and fair trade standards.
Our beanies: Basic hats for women and men
Merino wool is fine, soft, highly crimped, and more elastic than other sheep's wool, making it exceptionally high-quality. It's also known for its temperature-regulating properties: it keeps you warm without causing excessive sweating. Rotholz wool sweaters for men and women are therefore not only designed for timeless style and longevity in your wardrobe. The quality of Rotholz merino wool and its craftsmanship in our partner factory guarantee you'll enjoy these pieces for years to come.
Hat care: How to make it last longer
It's best to wash wool clothing and accessories as infrequently as possible. Often, simply airing them out is sufficient. If you do wash your beanie occasionally, we recommend hand-washing all wool hats in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent specifically formulated for wool. Afterwards, be sure to dry your hat flat, not hanging. Our cotton hats can also be machine-washed at 30 degrees Celsius (do not spin).
Hats: Not just for winter
For colder days, we recommend choosing a longer beanie that covers your ears (with a matching scarf ). Our finer knit beanie styles are especially warm because the tighter knit allows less wind and cold air to penetrate. If you also like to wear your beanie as an accessory, you can combine it with countless outfits. It's classically worn with casual looks like a sweater , jeans, sneakers, and a sporty jacket , but you can also wear a beanie for more unusual occasions – think: creating a stylish contrast.
